Storo

Storo is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 4668 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Trento in Trentino -Alto Adige. The community is located about 48 kilometers southwest of Trento on the Chiese and directly borders the province of Brescia. Storo is part of the Comunità Giudicarie.

History

The places in the community are 1000-1200 first mentioned. From the municipality dates back to the ruling family Lodron, such as the name of the hamlet Lodrone shows. In 1866, at the battles of Ponte Caffaro and Lodrone, which also affected the municipality.

Traffic

Through the community, the Strada Statale 237 del Caffaro leads from Brescia on the western shore of Lake Idro over after Calavino. Here ends the Strada Statale 240 Loppio di e di Val di Ledro, which comes from Rovereto.

Community partnership

Storo maintains a partnership with the Lithuanian city of Kaunas.
