Stovies

Stovies is the name of a Scottish residues stew.

Preparation

Stovies created on the basis of a special potato dish, the English stovie potatoes, which is grown mainly in the Scottish region of Fife. They are cut into thick slices and cooked on the stove or in the oven. Onions are always added, in most cases also beef or lamb, but can also be replaced by cheese.

Traditionally, one eats to oatcakes and drinking cold milk.
