Strade Bianche

Strade Bianchi (formerly Monte Paschi Eroica ) is an Italian one-day race for cyclists. Record winner has 2 successes Fabian Cancellara. Organizer of the race is the media company RCS, which is also the Giro d' Italia and Gazzetta dello aligns laid sport. The initial name of the race was referring to the sponsor, the Italian bank Monte dei Paschi di Siena ( colloquially usually only Montepaschi called ), and the Eroica, a discharged since 1997 touring cyclists event to their tenth anniversary, the professional race was first held. Strade Bianche Eroica Toscana and in 2010 only under the name of Montepaschi - Since, however, no longer take place both events at the same time, the professional race was in the third edition in 2009 under the name Strade Bianche Montepaschi.

The first edition was held in October 2007, the second in March 2008. It is intended that the race in the future in the spring, just before the spring classics of cycling discharge. It will be held in Tuscany near the town of Siena. Starting point is Gaiole in Chianti, where the race to the Piazza del Campo in Siena leads.
