Strahwalde is a district of the town of Herrnhut in Saxony, Görlitz district in the southeast.

Geography
Strahwalde in the foothills of Upper Lusatia is located in the central part of the county, about eight kilometers south-east of Lobau and eighteen kilometers northwest of Zittau.
History
The place was first Strahwalde 1317 as Strabenwal ( d) t (which means " place in the scrub, woodland " means ), when the Margrave of Brandenburg Woldemar had eight villages in the court of the city of Lobau, mentioned.
Top Strahwalde 1791-1792 was affected by witch hunts. Anna Rosina, wife of Christoph Gedtlich, got into a witch trial on charges of witchcraft a cow.
1950 top and Niederstrahwalde were combined to Strahwalde, the municipality belonged to a district within the in the corridor of the Lower village houses group Friedenthal.
The community Strahwalde was in debt at 1 January 2009 1,568,284 euros and, since then as no longer capable of action. On 1 January 2010 was integrated to Herrnhut.

Personalities
Friedrich Wilhelm von Kyaw (including Kyau ) was born on 6 May 1654 top Strawalde and died on January 19, 1733 as commander of the fortress Königstein.
In Strahwalde died the entrepreneur and politician Carl Adalbert Förster (1853-1925) and Heinrich von joke life -Alt- Döbern ( 1854-1933 ).
The NSDAP politicians, parliament and member of parliament Paul Unterstab (1896-1944) worked as a teacher in Niederstrahwalde.
The painter and director Strawalde (real name: Jürgen Böttcher) spent his childhood and youth. His pseudonym is derived from the place name.
