Stramilano

The Stramilano is a running event in Milan, taking place since 1972 and is organized by the Gruppo Alpinistico Fior di Roccia. Since 1976 the main run is a half marathon ( Stramilano Agonistica Internazionale), which is one of the most important road races around the world. In addition, the program includes the Stramilano dei 50,000, a fun run over 10 km without a time measurement with about 50,000 participants, and the Stramilanina, a run over 5 km for children and families.

History

Was launched in the event of Renato Cepparo, an activist in the field of Sport for All. On March 14, 1972, the Erstaustragung took place on the outer ring road of Milan over a length of about 22 km.

After three years in which the term had no competitive character, 1976, a road race over 21.097 kilometers for international elite athletes has been established, which will be held continuously until today. The only exception is 1985, when he was replaced by a Ekiden over the marathon distance for teams of three. This competition was won by the Portuguese team ( Carlos Lopes, Elísio Rios, Carlos Capítulo ). Lopes was also the fastest part of the min stage was about 14.065 km with 40:08. 1993 was with Moses Tanui 59:47 min became the first man under the one- hour mark in the half marathon. 1996 Paul Tergat even scored a time of 58:51 min; but it was found that the distance around 49 meters was too short, so no recognition took place as world record. Tergat finally broke two years later, the record of Tanui with a time of 59:17 min. 2002 won Rachid Berradi with the current Italian record of 1:00:20 h

Since 2004, an elite women's run is again an integral part of the program.
