Stranded (Haiti Mon Amour ) is a song by Jay- Z, Bono, The Edge and Rihanna. It is a charity single, the Hope for Haiti Now campaign and was released on January 23, 2010, a week after the earthquake in Haiti.

Background

The idea for the song came to producer Swizz Beatz, as he sent text messages to Jay -Z and Bono. Finally, they took the right to cooperate in a song. Bono wrote a part of the Liedetextes when he phoned Beatz. Beatz said: "The idea of the song is, ' We leave you not alone and helpless '. I and Bono continued to work on ideas and he thought, " You know this word stranded keeps standing out of me ', and I asked if he could sing it, but he said ' he had recorded everything on a Dictaphone - at least he sang it again on the phone. " Bono and The Edge wrote the rest of the song together then.

The production took place in many places. Beatz then took Rihanna and later said, "I knew that Jay is capable of telling a story and that Bono is capable of the song just to sing to the requirements. Then I took Rihanna and it fits like an angel to this song and brings it all back on their way over with a wonderful song. " In the end, the song of Beatz and Declan Gaffney was produced.

Stranded (Haiti Mon Amour ) was presented for the first time Live in London on 22 January 2010 and was later used as part of the Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for playing Earthquake Relief Telethon. Reception

The New York Times covered the Stars wanted to record from Stranded (Haiti Mon Amour ), an original song, but they were not satisfied with the work: " The musical was only moderately and the concept was lost sight of ." Ann Powers of the Los Angeles Times Compared with the U2 song of this project Passengers in 1995 and praised the modern rap Stranded (Haiti Mon Amour ). The Hartford Courant described the song as the most exciting collaboration of the event, but she complained that Bono did not fit with the team.
