Strata-East Records

Strata - East Records is an American jazz record label that was founded in 1971 by Stanley Cowell and Charles Tolliver.

The independent record label, published in the 1970s more than 60 albums, including by artists such as Charles Brackeen, The Heath Brothers, Clifford Jordan, Larry Ridley, Max Roach, Charlie Rouse, Shirley Scott and Pharoah Sanders. First LP release in 1971 was the album Music Inc Charles Tolliver's eponymous formation. At Strata East Gil Scott- Heron's 1974 also arisen album was released in America with Brian Jackson Winter and the resulting single from the The Bottle.

Artist of the labels have been sampled by hip -hop producers, for example samplete Q-Tip, the Heath Brothers for the song " One Love " by Nas ( rapper ).
