Strato I

Straton I. (Latin: Strato ) was the son of Agathokleia and probably of Menander I. He seems to have been very young at the beginning of government, so that his mother ruled for him, but there was at some point alone. At the beginning of his kingdom government was still to a large extent of the areas that his father had taken, especially Gandhara, the western Punjab and India to Mathura ruled by Straton. Only in the west part had come loose from the Press Association, but went under Straton I also parts of Gandhara lost. He could probably still keep Mathura.

On some of his coins the slogan Dharmika find ( of the Dharma ), which may indicate a turn to Buddhism. The ruler is the only one from the series of Indo- Greek, was sometimes depicted with a beard.
