Strator

Stator (Latin horse owners ) originally referred to a type of groom in Roman cavalry units. This was also responsible in the Roman marching camp for the bodies of stables and transportation of the food of the horse. In the Middle Ages the Stratordienst was an act of ritual self- humiliation, in which the continuous walk Strator an astride highly placed person leading the horse by the bridle over a certain distance.
