Streamline-Moderne

The Streamline Moderne is a late branch of the Art Deco style and includes the areas of architecture and design ( esp. cars, buses, locomotives ). The style emphasized curving stream- like forms, long horizontal lines, and sometimes nautical elements such as railings or portholes. The style reached its peak in 1937. One of the most important pioneers of only briefly referred to as the streamlining style was Raymond Loewy. Other representatives of the style in the design were Norman Bel Geddes, Henry Dreyfuss, Walter Dorwin Teague and Hans Ledwinka.
