Street-legal vehicle

The registration of vehicles on public roads ( colloquially street legal ) is officially regulated in all countries for certain vehicles and therefore as a sovereign act an official approval procedure.

Germany

In Germany must conform to the provisions of the Road Traffic Act, " motor vehicles and their trailers to be set on public roads in operation, [ ... ] by the competent authority (approval authority ) be permitted to be marketed ." Requirements

Exceptions

There are a number of vehicles that are not subject to, but operation requires a permit (eg, moped and mopeds ).
