Streetwalkers

The Streetwalkers were a British rock band in the 1970s.

After the dissolution of the band Family 1973 Roger Chapman and Charlie Whitney continued their musical partnership continued with the streetwalkers. In changing cast they played a hard, rough rock, which attracted mainly young fans.

In 1974 the first album Chapman / Whitney Streetwalkers, which was still unbalanced compared to the subsequent albums. With guitarist and vocalist Bobby Tench, the band took a well-established style, on the albums Downtown Flyers (1975) Red Card ( 1976) and Vicious But Fair ( 1977) is being held.

The Streetwalkers were known for their passionate live performances. At a concert at London's Roundhouse, the swirling Chapman injured his foot and ended the show on the floor crawling. The double album Street Walkers Live (1977 ) gives an impression of the atmosphere at Street Walkers concerts.

The lack of commercial success and internal difficulties led in 1977 to the dissolution of the band.
