Stress testing

Stress test ( english stress testing) means an assay to measure in the responses to stress such as increased stress and strain of physical or psychological nature. Due to the distribution of medicine in various fields as well as the everyday language the term of the Society for German Language ( GfdS ) was elected as the word of the year 2011 in Germany.

Use

The term originally referred to in human medicine stress tests as in the stress test. According to Doris Steffens from the Department of German Studies, he was established in the 1990s in the technical language and has been received since the arbitration on the controversial rail project Stuttgart 21, 2011 in everyday language. After Armin Burkhardt is the word " linguistically extremely productive " because it would be applied to new areas. The head of the Dudenredaktion Werner Scholze -Stube law said, "It has become a common word that is now being applied to relationship crises and footballers ." The Duden announced in 2011 that the word was included in the new edition of the German Universal Dictionary, and in the online edition.

Word of the Year 2011

On December 16, 2011, the Company opted for German language stress test word of the year and explained the decision as follows:

" This word, originally from human medicine, met during the year remarkably often.
