Stria vascularis of cochlear duct

The stria vascularis (Latin: tube strips ) is a strip-shaped organ on the outer wall of the cochlear duct in the cochlea ( cochlear ) of the inner ear.

It is penetrated by a network of capillaries, and consists of three different types of cells, the so-called marginal cells are likely to be on the inner surface of the stria vascularis of particular importance. The stria vascularis is significantly involved in the production of fluid in the cochlear duct ( endolymph ) and thus plays an important role in the function of the organ of Corti.
