Strictly Berlin

Strictly Berlin is an exhibition series to Berlin Media Art, which was founded in 2006 by Heiko Daxl and Ingeborg Fülepp in collaboration with Noam Braslavsky in the Gallery of Arts ( GdK ) in Berlin.

These exhibitions gather a large number of parallel approaches, which manifest themselves in various forms of expression. It can be noted in Berlin, a formulation of similar concerns permeates all areas of art such as music, visual arts, film, theater and performance. Artists not only from Germany but from many countries have, at least temporarily, Berlin their home. The aim of Strictly Berlin is to offer their work a board. This concept is as good or as bad as any other. It's not about Bebilderungsträume of curators, but the confidence that artists are united than their differences because of something bigger.

Their goal is not the apparent reproduction of reality, but the parting of the reality depicted from ordinary meaning contexts and time contexts and their meaning in new combinations. It is not the copy of reality, but concepts of reality, in which an interpretation as only one of many possibilities erweißt. The possibility of retelling is rarely applicable to these forms of expression and with identifying the recognizable one usually comes not continue. The viewer has to think about himself and his own experiences, only then does the pleasure of viewing, with no guarantee, however, to completely solve the mystery. ( Heiko Daxl )

Strictly Berlin takes place in Berlin every year.
