Stridsvagn m/31

Stridsvagn M/31 (L -10)

The Landsverk L-10 was a light Swedish tanks from the 1930s.

History

The light tank was designed in the early 1930s by the German engineer Joseph Vollmer. Vollmer had previously designed the first German tanks ( A7V ) and was at that time co-owner of the German Automobile Construktionsgesellschaft (DAC). Until 1936, were constructed by vehicles or engines and then sold as a complete working drawing for a license payment of motor vehicle and motor factories. As a result of the specified in the Treaty of Versailles provisions the production of tanks was banned in the German Reich, this had to be done in secret or abroad. For this reason, the Gutehoffnungshütte had acquired, based in Oberhausen, AB Landsverk in Landskrona. In 1930, this DAC commissioned the development of tanks. Parallel to the L-10 and the Rad-/Kettenpanzer Landsverk L -30 was developed, with whom he had much in common. The L-10 had a welded tub and sloping front armor plates and radio equipment. The Swedish Armed Forces has ordered the end of 1931 three specimens that were not delivered until the end of 1935. These were given the Army designation Stridsvagn M/31 ( Strv M/31 ). Since he did not meet the expectations, there were no re-orders and he was replaced after a few years.
