Strikebreaker

Scabs are called workers who do not participate in a strike against trade union decision. It happens that entrepreneurs specifically involved strike-breakers to make a strike going nowhere. Furthermore, occasionally paid by the employer so-called scabs premiums. It happens that entrepreneurs sell the contracts to another company.

However, no employee, it may be compelled to be a scab in the strict sense, ie it must not be forced to do the work of the other. Training may not be a scab. Civil servants should not be used as strike-breakers according to law, at best, they may do so-called emergency services.

Temporary workers may not be obliged to strike breaking under the Employment Act. They have therefore the right to refuse to work in a strike- operation. Your employer must then to another - not on strike - give operation.

A literary and very clear definition of the scab comes from the writer Jack London.
