String quintet

A string quintet is a chamber music ensemble of five string instruments. The cast usually consists of two violins, two violas and cello or a rare of two violins, a viola and two cellos (for example, Luigi Boccherini ). Are unusual string quintets with a double bass.

Important compositions for the occupation with two violas wrote Mozart, who finished most of his quartet cycles with a quintet.
