Stripped (song)

Stripped is a song by British band Depeche Mode. It was released in February 1986 as a single from their album Black Celebration. In the UK, the song reached number 15 in the Federal Republic of Germany # 4 on the charts. Also in some other European countries it was successful, in the U.S. it did not appear after the experience with Master and Servant. Additional became famous for the piece through the cover of Rammstein.

History

Stripped was recorded in late 1985 with Daniel Miller and Gareth Jones during the recording of Black Celebration and was the first single from the album. The piece used in an innovative way sampling. Such a distorted motorcycle sound was used for the rhythm. In the beginning you can hear the ignition of a car, at the end of fireworks noises were used. One of the three B-side of the single pieces Stripped, But Not Tonight, was used by the label Sire Records for the film Modern Girls and appeared October 22, 1986 in the U.S. as a single, again Stripped acted as B-side.
