Stripped is a live album by British band The Rolling Stones, which was released in 1995. The album contains 10 original compositions by the band and four cover versions that were recorded from March to July 1995.

Background

The name of the album ( dt: stripped ) can be understood as an allusion to the time of his popular Unplugged albums of various artists. The songs on the album are indeed not played completely unplugged, but in contrast to previous live albums, the Stones, where mostly bombastic and technically - complex shows were recorded, instrumentation and arrangements on Stripped are much more economical, affects the atmosphere of the whole album thereby intimate - similar to Unplugged concerts.

About half of the songs was (but without audience) recorded in different studios under live conditions. The other half of the songs are live recordings from smaller ( for Stones ratios) clubs in London, Paris and Amsterdam. The piece Little baby is the only new recording on the album, all the other songs were previously released on other plates of the Rolling Stones.

The CD also is interactive bonus material that can be played on computers.
