Stroma (animal tissue)

Interstitium (Latin diisocyanate, ., Space '), also known as stroma (. Greco- anat) or general language called cell gap, called in histology the parenchymatous organs by pulling ( supportive ) and untergliedernde interstitial tissue. There are mostly connective and supporting tissue, rarely also to epithelial tissue or muscle cells.

In the interstitium, the supply paths run (blood vessels, nerves) of the organ. It divided the organ into lobes ( lobes ), lobules ( lobules ) or complexes. It does not consist of the organ-specific cells and also increases so does not participate directly in the specific organ function.

The intercellular spaces are filled from the interstitial fluid ( tissue fluid ).
