Which belongs to Caithness Isle of stroma ( norn: Straumey ) lies off the north coast of Scotland. It is located three kilometers from the port of John o 'Groats in the Pentland Firth, which separates the mainland of Scotland from the Orkney archipelago.

1901 were 375 people at home here. In the late 1940s, the number had fallen to 111. 1947 bought an umbrella manufacturer from Yorkshire the island and she was not going back. 1956 lived only sixteen people, including the staff of a lighthouse on the stroma. The last members of the Manson Family who left the island in 1961. The lighthouse was automated in 1996. Since then, the island is uninhabited. On stroma today live only sheep and cattle.
