Structure constants

Structure constants are considered in mathematics in the field of Lie algebras and Lie groups. They contain all the local information on a Lie algebra associated Lie group.

Definition

Let be a finite dimensional, real or complex Lie algebra with the product and is a vector space basis of the Lie algebra. Since we can represent each element as a linear combination relative to a base in vector spaces exists for all the decomposition

The product of the Lie algebra. The constants are called structure constants of the Lie algebra.
