Struisbaai

Province

Struisbaai is a coastal village in the municipality of Cape Agulhas, Overberg District, Western Cape Province in South Africa. In 2011 the town had 3,877 inhabitants. The place is known for its 14 miles of white sand beach. It was founded in the mid 19th century; the fishing harbor is still used today.

  • Hotagterklip cottages, restored historic fishing houses at the entrance, all of which are designated as a national monument. Some are now rented out as holiday homes.
  • Anglican church, covered with straw, as a historic monument
  • The 14 km long sandy beach
