Stuart Hall (musician)

Stuart Hall is a British jazz violinist, guitarist and bassist -. Addition to the instruments Hall also plays traditional and historical instruments such as oud, bouzouki, saz, banjo, Tres, Lyra and gadulka.

He recorded albums with Lol Coxhill, Django Bates and Human Chain, Steve Argüelles and Billy Jenkins. He also played with Tim Berne and was one of the Loose Tubes and Generation Big Band by Alec & John Dankworth. With Belinda Sykes ' group Joglaresa he also played medieval music.

With Huw Warren, Eddie Parker and Martin France Hall founded the Hermetologist who play the music of Hermeto Pascoal. In addition to Paul Clarvis he is co-leader of the Orquestra Mahatma.

Since 1999 he teaches at the Jamey Aebersold Jazz Summer School. He leads the Bachelor courses specializing in jazz at Middlesex University, where rock violinist as Joolz Heath was one of his students and teaches at the Royal Academy of Music.
