Stuart Pearson

James Stuart Pearson ( born June 21, 1949 in Hull, Yorkshire ) is an English former international footballer.

Pearson began his career at Hull City for the 129 games he played until 1974, in which 44 goals reach him. Then he spent 200,000 pounds to Manchester United, who were relegated from the first division. With 17 goals in his first season, he revived the formerly torschwachen storm and was a guarantee for its chances of promotion. Pearson, who was mainly known for its elegant handling of the ball, formed with teammate Jimmy Green Hoff a terrific strike partnership that was always difficult to control by the opposing defense. 1977 then scored the first title in his career, when you could be won in the final of the FA Cup with a 2-1 win against Liverpool. Between 1976 and 1978 he ran 15 times for the national team, scoring 5 goals.

In his first four years at Manchester Pearson lacked rare. Then, however, he suffered a knee injury and had to stop after an operation almost the entire 1978/79 season. Therefore, manager Tommy Docherty offered only a one year contract, but which Pearson refused and moved to second division side West Ham United. There he accomplished in the first year to another victory in the FA Cup, when they defeated Arsenal with a goal by Trevor Brooking 1-0.

Pearson ended his career at unterklassigen clubs and worked from 1986 as a coach of various teams, including at West Bromwich Albion. However, the success he remained until now denied.

The followers of Manchester United gave him the nickname " Pancho " Pearson.
