The single spent three weeks in the fall of 1986 at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, dated 20 September 1986 to 10 October 1986. The song became the second number -one hit in the U.S. after the band The Power of Love (1985 ). In addition, the single reached number 12 in the UK Singles Chart.
