Stump grinder

The stump grinder is a forestry work device for removing tree stumps after tree felling.

Design and function

A stump grinder has mostly a hydraulic drive for milling arm and cutter disk. Without traction, the stump grinder can also be used as an attachment for tractors or wheel loaders and excavators. The cutter disk usually consists of solid wear plate, fitted with replaceable carbide cutter bits occupied.

The stumps are crushed with the help of this equipment to wood chips, which can be left as mulch on site. A digging out the stumps is not necessary anymore.
