Sture Johnsson

Sture Johnsson ( born September 27, 1945) is a former Swedish badminton player. Kurt Johnsson is his brother.

Career

Sture Johnsson is one of the greatest players of his country, and was one of the most important players in badminton in Europe in the 1970s. Culmination of his successful career in badminton was winning the European title in single in 1968, 1970 and 1974. During the World Cup in 1977, he already resigned, however, in the quarter- finals. The All England he was several times in the semifinals, but never made it all the way up to the podium.
