Sturup Raceway

The Sturup Raceway is a race track about 30 km east of Malmö (Sweden). It is immediately west of Malmo Airports located.

From 1972 Rallycross events were organized on the premises, where the route originally bore the name Sturupsbanan, but was changed in the Skånecrossbanan early 1980. In 1989 the route was completely paved, so in 1990 the first circuit race could be held. 2001, then 1.1 km long route was purchased by Team Brask management. This company managed alongside Giorgio Pantano and Andy Priaulx several racers and even has a team in the Danish Touring Car Championship. Only 45 minutes from Copenhagen, Denmark, bears this championship since 2005 races on the Sturup Raceway. The domestic Swedish Touring Car Championship only since 2007 but occurs at near Malmö.

The Fall in international series allowed but only an extensive remodeling of the track after the takeover in 2001. Example, the stretch before start and finish was extended. This corresponds to the today 1.48 km long short course. At the northern hairpin also the course was prolonged by about 600 m. In this new section then the boxes and the start and finish line of the now approx. 2,1 km measured course were laid.
