Stylohyoid muscle

The Musculus stylohyoideus (Latin for " stylus hyoid muscle ") is a skeletal muscle of the head. It has its origin at the styloid process ( styloid process ) of the temporal bone and its approach in the margin of the hyoid bone. It is used to fix the hyoid bone and raise it during swallowing with. He is Innervated by the ramus stylohyoideus, a small branch of the facial nerve.
