Subaru R1

The Subaru R1 was introduced by the Japanese car maker January 4, 2005. It was developed as japanischens kei car. However, the R1 is a two-door version of the Subaru R2 with a shorter wheelbase and body. Available was the R1 with a 658 cc Subaru EN engine, which was available in three versions: as EN07U SOHC 34 kW ( 46 hp ), as R EN07D DOHC engine with 40 kW ( 54 hp) and a STi with a EN07X compressor and Intercooler with 47 kW (64 hp). All R1s were available with a CVT transmission and optional all-wheel drive. In advertising, Subaru tried to put the R1 with the Subaru 360 in conjunction, the first mobile mass of Subaru automobiles. The R1 is also the base car for several vehicles; Subaru 1e - an experimental battery - electric vehicle with a limited production for selected industrial customers in Japan, as well as the Prodrive P2 concept sports car.
