Sublette County, Wyoming
Sublette County is a county located in the state of Wyoming in the United States. On 1 July 2005 Sublette County had 6926 inhabitants. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Pinedale.
Geography
The county has an area of 12,783 square kilometers; of which 137 square miles of water. It is bordered clockwise to the counties: Fremont County, Sweetwater County, Lincoln County and Teton County.
History
The county was founded in 1921.
Demographic data
According to the census of 2000, there were 5920 people in Sublette County. There were 2371 households and 1707 families. The population density was less than 1 inhabitant per square kilometer. The racial the population was composed of 97.48 % White, 0.20 % African American, 0.49 % Native American, 0.24 % Asian, 0.08 % Pacific Islander residents from the and 0.52 % from other races groups; 0.98% were descended from two or more races. 1.89% percent of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
Of the 2,371 households out of which 32.70 % have children under the age of 18 living with them. 63.30 % were married couples living together, 5.30% percent were single mothers, 28.00 % were non-families. 23.60% of all households and 6.50% had someone living alone at the age of 65 years or older. The average household size was 2.47 and the average family size was 2.91.
Based on the county the population was spread out with 25.80 % under the age of 18, 6.00 % from 18 to 24, 27.50% from 25 to 44 years, 28.70% between 45 and 64 years and 12.00% were 65 years old or older. The average age was 40 years. For every 100 females there were 104.30 males to 100 females age 18 and over, there were 104.50 males.
