Submersible bridge

A Senkbrücke is a moveable bridge with a vertically movable roadway. In contrast to the lifting bridge the infrastructure is lowered into the water to clear the way for ships.

At the Corinth Canal, there is a Senkbrücke at each end. Here the road is lowered by winches to a depth of 8 meters.
