Submucosa

The term is understood in the submucosa layer of tissue between the histology of the mucous membrane ( tunica mucosa ) and the muscle layer (tunica muscularis ). The submucosa consists of loose connective tissue, many blood vessels and a vegetative nerve plexus ( submucosal plexus ). Also, found in the submucosa lymphatic vessels and glands in places.
