Subtropical antechinus

Antechinus subtropicus is a Beutelsäugerart from the kind of Breitfußbeutelmäuse ( Antechinus ). It was first described scientifically in 2000 and was previously considered conspecific with the Stuart Breitfußbeutelmaus ( Antechinus stuartii ).

These bags mouse has a brown fur and is characterized by its long snout. She lives in eastern Australia, in the south-eastern Queensland and northeastern New South Wales. Their habitat is subtropical forests at an altitude of less than 1000 meters. This species feeds mainly on insects.
