Sugarloaf (ski resort)

The Sugarloaf ski resort is located on Sugarloaf Mountain in Franklin County in the U.S. state of Maine.

It extends from 432 m sea level to 1291 m. At the resort there are 87 km of marked ski runs of all difficulty levels, 95 % of which could be artificially snowed. 15 lifts ( four 4- chair lifts, a 3 -seater, eight double chair lifts and two surface lifts ) with a total capacity of up to 21810 people per hour overcome a total of 859 meters and bring winter sports to just below the summit of the 1295 m high Sugarloaf Mountain. The season runs from mid-November to late April.

In February 1971 World Cup race of the Lords and the Ladies were held in the ski resort, in 1984 it hosted the Alpine World Junior Championship. Also, here numerous Nor -Am Cup races were held and often here the U.S. Championships were held.
