Geography
Geographical Location
The community is located between the cities of Uelzen and Salzwedel midst of the Lüneburg Heath. The municipality belongs to the village of Suhl Samtgemeinde Rosche.
Community structure
The municipality consists of the villages and the village of Suhl districts today Batensen, Dallahn, Dalldorf, United Ellenberg, Small Ellenberg, Grabau, Güstau, Kölau, Molbath, Nestau, Növenthien, Rassau, Schlieckau and shaft village and small Malchau and St. Omer.
History
Incorporations
On 1 July 1972, the municipalities Batensen, Dallahn, Dalldorf, Ellenberg, Grabau, Güstau, Kölau, Molbath, Nestau, Növenthien, Rassau, Schlieckau and shaft village were incorporated.

Religions
Suhl village is the seat of a Lutheran church ( church district Uelzen, Luneburg Sprengel ). Present pastor is Hagen Gunther.
Museums
In Handwerksmuseum the work and workplaces of shoemakers, potters, blacksmith, wheelwright, saddler and upholsterer is represented in different buildings. The museum is located on the Mill Mountain near the former site of the Suhl villages windmill.
Personalities
- Horst Hrubesch ( born 1951 ), former professional football player and now coach, lives on an estate in Kl.Ellenberg in Suhl village.
