Suining

Suining (Chinese遂宁 市, pinyin Suining Shì ) is a prefecture -level city in mountainous southwest China's Sichuan Province. Suining has an area of 5,326 km ² and approximately 3.72 million inhabitants ( 2002). At the census in 2000 but 3,477,013 inhabitants were counted.

Suining is made up of two districts and three counties:

  • Municipality Chuanshan (船 山区), 618 km ², about 670,000 inhabitants (2002);
  • Municipality Anju (安居 区), 1258 km ², 750,000 inhabitants ( 2002), in this district lies the large village Lanjiang (拦江 镇);
  • Circle Pengxi (蓬溪县), 1251 km ², 750,000 inhabitants ( 2002), capital: greater community Chicheng (赤 城镇);
  • Circle shehong (射洪县), 1496 km ², approximately 1.03 million inhabitants ( 2002), capital: large village Taihe (太和镇);
  • Circle Daying (大 英 县), 703 km ², approximately 520,000 inhabitants (2002), capital: greater community Penglai (蓬莱 镇).

Located in the city area Guangde Temple (广 德 寺, guǎngdé sì ) is on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China.
