Suit (cards)

The color denotes one of the two properties of a playing card, the second property is usually the value. Most map sheets using four colors, which are represented by one or more symbols on the map. Some cards use additional sheets cards that belong to any color, such as the Joker.

The term color has no relation to the color of the symbols on the cards, except for four colored playing cards. In most rules for card games it is required that the players show their colors. With Fehlfarben those colors are called that are not trump in the same playthrough.

Tarot

In Tarot cards are available in addition to the Major Arcana also four rows, which traditionally rod ( fire element ), sword (air element ), chalice (water element) and coin ( earth element ) are shown. However, these are, strictly speaking, only referred to as colors when the tarot is used as a game; in esoteric terms the series or series are preferred.
