Suiyuan

Suiyuan (Chinese绥远/绥远, Pinyin Suīyuǎn, abbreviation绥, SUI ), the name of a north of the Great Wall located former province in northern China at the time of the Empire or the Republic was nationalist. Provincial capital was Guisui, today Hohhot.

The province was claimed 1937-1945 by " autonomous " Japanese satellite State Mengjiang (Inner Mongolia ), but only the eastern part with Guisui ( Hohhot ) was used by the Japanese and the allied Mongols actually controlled. From 1947 Suiyuan formed together with the former province of Chahar the core area of ​​the newly established autonomous Inner Mongolia in the People's Republic of China.
