Sujata Koirala

Sujata Koirala ( born February 9, 1954 in Biratnagar ) is a Nepalese politician.

Biography

Sujata Koirala comes from the influential Nepalese political family Koirala. Both her ​​father Girija Prasad Koirala and Matrika Prasad Koirala and his brothers Prasad Koirala was the Prime Minister of Nepal Bishweshwar. In addition, Man Mohan Adhikari was a cousin of the brothers Koirala, Prime Minister of Nepal.

Like her father, she also appeared in the Nepali Congress Party ( Nepali Congress Party ) and was elected executive member of the Central Committee of the NCP. In this she was also Head of the Department of International Relations and took so according to the increasing democratization of the country after 1990 an important position and at the same time close friend of her father Girija Koirala, who is still chairman of the NCP.

Her father called them between 2006 and 2008 and as minister in his cabinet. During this time, she was accused in January 2008 of the Maoist Communist Party of Nepal to work for the monarchy and the deposed King Gyanendra, and demanded their dismissal as Minister.

In the election for the Constituent Assembly of Nepal 2008, she was chosen as representative of the NCP as a member of this Interim Parliament.

On 4 June 2009 she was appointed by Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal to the Secretary of State in the Cabinet. At the same time, she was appointed in the coalition government of her father as head of the group of NCP minister.
