Sukkur

Sukkur ( Urdu: سکھر, Sindhi: سکر ) is the third largest city in the Pakistani province of Sindh. It lies on the western bank of the Indus in Sukkur district. The city has about 900,000 inhabitants.

Geography and climate

67 meters above sea level, covers an area of ​​Sukkur 5156 square kilometers and extends from 27 ° 05 ' to 28 ° 02 ' North and 68 ° 47 ' to 69 ° 43 ' East.

The district Sukkur is bordered to the north by the districts of Shikarpur and Kashmore, on the northwest by Ghotki, Khairpur on the south and also to the district of Jaisalmer in the Indian state of Rajasthan. Main roads connect Sukkur with cities in Pakistan and India.
