Sulbiate

Sulbiate is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 4144 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Monza and Brianza in Lombardy. The community is located about 14 kilometers northwest of Monza at the Parco Rio Vallone and directly borders the province of Lecco.

History

998 the place is mentioned Sebeate, whose name, converts to the 13th century in Sulbiate in Subiate and later, from the 16th century. Worth seeing are still built on old foundations churches of St. Ambrose and of St. Anthony. The Castello Lampugnani was built in the 15th century; obtained, however, it is hardly. The latter is true, alas for the villa Baraggia from the 18th century.
