Suleiman II (Rûm)

His father Kilij Arslan II divided the empire between his eleven sons, 1186. Even before his father's death, there was fierce fighting between the brothers for the throne. 1192 his father died and the youngest son Kai Khosrau I. came to power. Suleiman II overthrew his brother in 1196 and has been that way himself Sultan.

Suleiman II was able to conquer Erzurum, paving the Beylik the Saltukiden an end. He enlarged the Sultanate and fought against Byzantines and 1203 at the Battle of Baisan against the Georgians.

As Suleiman II died in 1204, he had led the kingdom to its former strength.
