Suleymaniye Mosque (London)

The Süleymaniye Mosque (Turkish: Süleymaniye Camii ) is a mosque in the Kingsland Road in the London borough of Hackney, which is mainly used by the local Turkish community. The mosque was funded by the UK Turkish Islamic Cultural Centre, the construction began in 1995 and was released in October 1999; the architect was Osman Sahan. The floor area of the six -story building is 8000 m², the mosque can hold up to 3,000 worshipers.

The building includes a conference room and a wedding hall, guest rooms, classrooms, and facilities for funeral services and accommodation for the workforce. An on-site restaurant is open after Friday prayers.

In September 2001, Prince Charles visited the mosque after he met earlier with friends and colleagues of casualties of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center.
