The Sullivan County is a county located in the U.S. state of Missouri. In 2010, the County had 6714 inhabitants and a population density of 4 people per square kilometer. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Milan.

Geography

The County is located almost in the extreme north of Missouri, is about 30 km from Iowa and has an area of 1687 square kilometers, of which 1 square kilometers is occupied by water. At the Sullivan County borders the following Nachbarcountys:

History

The Sullivan County was formed in 1845. It was named after the eponymous County in Tennessee or after John Sullivan (1740-1795), a general in the American War of Independence and third Governor of New Hampshire.
