Sultangazi is a district of the Turkish province of İstanbul as well as a district on the European side of İstanbul. Sultangazi had according to the last census, 444 295 inhabitants (as of December 2008).

Population

The Gazi Mah district, considered a stronghold of the DHKP -C - sympathizers in İstanbul, which often deliver to street battles with the Turkish police. In 1995, the peak of the riots was achieved, which are known as Gazi Mah olayları in Turkey.
