Sulz (Vorarlberg)

Sulz is an Austrian municipality in the province of Vorarlberg ( Feldkirch district ) with 2466 inhabitants (December 31, 2013).

Geography

Sulz is located in the westernmost province of Austria, Vorarlberg, in the district of Feldkirch to 495 meters. 5.0 % of the area is forested.

Neighboring communities

The municipality Sulz has a common municipal boundary with three other municipalities in Vorarlberg, which are just as Sulz in the district of Feldkirch. In the north of Sulz borders the municipality Roethis, on the east by the municipality of intermediate water in the south and the west on the community of Rankweil.

History

In Rhaetian Commodity Code ( 850 ) the church is first mentioned by the name " Sulles ". On the hill Jergenberg, the site of the present parish church, was already in the Middle Ages a chapel, which was then the mother parish Rank Because belonged.
