Sulzbachtal
Sulzbach is a municipality in the district of Kaiserslautern, in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Otterbach.

Geography
Sulzbach is located 12 km north of Kaiserslautern at the Lauter.
The quarters are Obersulzbach and Untersulzbach. To Untersulzbach includes the living space Hirschhorner board mill.
History
On January 29, 1379 today's districts were first mentioned in a document of the feudal Counts of Veldenz as Obersulzbach and Untersulzbach. They belonged to the French Revolution to Electoral Palatinate.
On 7 June 1969, the municipality Sulzbach was from the previously independent municipalities Obersulzbach (then 131 inhabitants) and Untersulzbach (275 inhabitants) is newly formed.
Religion
2012 were 62.7 percent of the population Protestant and 13.3 percent Catholic. The other belonged to a different religion or no religious affiliation were. Catholics belong to the diocese of Speyer, the Evangelical Lutheran Church for Protestant Palatinate.

The local council in Sulzbach consists of eight council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.
Coat of arms
The blazon of the arms is: " Argent, a with three silver salt crystals husky blue oblique left wave beams, top right a grünbestielte and leafy green acorn, bottom left a grünbestielte and leafy black blackberry ".
It was approved by the district government Neustadt 1976.

Economy and infrastructure
Traffic
- The public transport system is integrated into the transport association Rhein- Neckar. The railway line from Kaiserslautern to Lauterecken has a breakpoint in the community.
- Direct to the community runs the main road 270 that leads from Kaiserslautern Wolfenstein and Lauterecken to Idar -Oberstein. The community is through the A 6 (junction: Kaiserslautern-West ) connected to the motorway network.
